I wrote a novel. Can't quite believe I'm typing that sentence... I'm feeling really happy with the final manuscript, which is probably about my 14th draft and although it was a lot of work, I discovered that writing middle-grade fiction is also a lot of fun. I know I could keep drafting (& adding more ideas that seem to just keep coming), but at some point you have to stop and be happy with what you have achieved. Plus, you get bloody sick of looking at the thing! So here I go, sending it off to a few publishers. It's a strange mix of joy, relief, hopefulness and pragmatism. We will see what happens...
